New Delhi: In the national capital Delhi, a meeting of opposition parties took place on Monday under the leadership of the Congress. More than a dozen opposition parties attended this meeting convened under the leadership of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, but some big parties did not attend. An invitation to this meeting was not sent to the Shiv Sena, which is running a government with the Congress in Maharashtra. Congress had called a meeting of opposition on the violence erupted at Jawaharlal Nehru University, protesting on the Citizenship Amendment Act and the current state of the country.

Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), DMK and TMC have not attended this meeting. However a total of 14 parties including CPM, CPI, RJD attended the meeting. Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi was also present in this meeting. After forming the government in Jharkhand, Rahul Gandhi has joined a public event for the first time.

Former Congress president and MP from Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi also attended this meeting. Rahul Gandhi has come to a public event after almost two weeks. Earlier, he was seen during the formation of the Congress-JMM government in Jharkhand. Rahul Gandhi did not even participate in the Working Committee of the Congress held recently. However, during this time he was attacking the Modi government by tweeting.
