BAGDAD: Islamic State plants bomb in a car in Baghdad, in a busy square in Baghdad's sprawling Sadr City district on Monday, which in turn killed around 24 people. An online statement by Islamic state news agency Amaq, a statement was generated that said," the ultra-hardline Sunni group had targeted a gathering of Shi'ite Muslims." Sixty- seven people were injured and suffered critical wounds inthe blast.

There was another blast that took place in the Central hospital of Baghdad killed one, and injured nine people. "The terrorists will attempt to attack civilians in order to make up for their losses, but we assure the Iraqi people and the world that we are able to end terrorism and shorten its life," Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi told media after meeting French Prime Minister Francois Hollande.

There has been repeated attacks by the IS jihadists in order to get over Mosul city from the US backed armed forces.
