4 arrested, including one policeman, for sacking Rs 91 lakhs in old-currency notes

The incident took place where a business man was robbed of Rs.91 lakhs, which were old-currency notes, by four people including a police-man in the Medak district of Telangana.

As per Police said, “Two men, Y. Venkatesham and K. Raju Goud, told Baswakoti Lingam, a businessman, that they could exchange his old currency notes with new notes for a commission. As decided, Baswakoti went to Keshav Rao farmhouse at Kallakal on the night of 12 December with Rs91 lakh in old Rs500 and Rs1,000 notes. Venkatesham, K. Raju Goud and three others, one of whom was wearing police uniform, reached there, and allegedly took away the money after threatening to kill him. After Baswakoti filed a complaint, police arrested sub-inspector Anand Goud who is attached to Manoharabad police station, Venkatesham, K. Raju Goud, Pariyal Singh and Bhikshapathy."

Further investigation is still on in the case, till now Rs. 34 lakh has been seized by the police.
