Thane, a panther attacked and killed a 55-year-old tribal woman from Murbad taluka.
“The incident took place last evening when the big cat strayed into a residential locality of Singapore-Waghwadi and dragged the woman out of her house”, said, API Pankaj Giri of Tokawade Police Station.
The deceased was identified as Mira Khandu.
An investigation is carrying out by a police team from Murbad along with forest officials to catch the animal.
Local police station registered a case of death and the remains of the woman have been sent for postmortem.
