Agusta-Westland VVIP chopper deal middleman Michel extradited to India, CBI arrested

The Most important victory in the Agusta-Westland VVIP chopper deal investigation, absconding British middleman Christian Michel extradited to India from the UAE.He was arrested by CBI at Delhi airport.

Worth mention here the middleman accused of receiving brick-back, in 3,600 crore Augusta Westland chopper deal.Earlier on Tuesday, the Court of Cassation has supported a lower court order which said that Michel could be extradited.  The extradition course of action happens in coordination with the Interpol and the CID.

The development comes on a day when External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj held full negotiations with her UAE counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi.

The central investigating agency in a press note said the whole extradition operation was held under the guidance of National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and synchronization of interim CBI Director M Nageswara Rao.

A team which is led by Joint CBI Director A Sai Manohar had been to Dubai to extradite James, who has been evading criminal proceedings in India in AgustaWestland case.

Reports suggested that  James was kept under custody at the Dubai Police`s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as per the Indian government`s demand. It is noted that The major  extradition is undertaken in coordination with the Interpol and the CID.
