From 16 Mbps a direct upgrade to 100 Mbps! Yes, Airtel is planning to expand its broad band network speed from 16 Mbps to 100 Mbps. The announcement was made by Bharti Airtel itself on Thursday.
Bharti has begun offering higher-speeds in Chennai and will complete the roll out in 87 cities where it has fixed broadband presence, Ajai Puri, director for operations at Bharti Airtel told FE.
The technology deployment is part of Bharti’s “Operation Leap” to upgrade its mobile and fixed telephone networks to provide high-speed broadband, he said.
