Ajay Devgn has replaced Sanjay Dutt in Total Dhamaal and for which he is getting paid a whopping INR 35 crore for only 30-day work in the film!
According to a source, “Ajay will be seen in the Dhamaal franchise along with Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh. While Ajay’s being part of the project is not surprising considering Ajay’s emotional bond with Indra Kumar and Thakeria, the actor will also be seen in a great role in the complete entertainer. Apart from this, Ajay has been adequately compensated for his 30-day appearance in the film. His financial remuneration is said to be INR 35 crore for his 30 days of work – which is more than a crore a day. His role is also a very quirky one – like what he had done in Masti and has been specially designed for him. His character is pivotal to the film."
But Indra Kumar and Thakeria are confident of the film's box-office success. Adds the source, The Dhamaal series has its own audience who loved both the Dhamaals and with stars like Ajay, Anil, Arshad and Riteish, who are known for their performances and comic flair coming on board, Total Dhamaal will be a sure-shot winner at the box office. The film will roll by this year end and release in 2018," added the source.
Indra about Ajay and the film said, "There are no date restrictions of Ajay. He is there right from the beginning to the end and it's a full-fledged role like Sanjay Dutt had earlier in the last two Dhamaals. Ajay has a fantastic role in the film and he's been wonderful to us. We begin shooting for Total Dhamaal from July-August this year."
