New Delhi: Based on a complaint of woman lawyer, a case has been registered against Congress Rajya Sabha MP Shadi Lal Batra at New Delhi's Tilak Marg police station.

The woman hails from Haryana alleged that the MP sexually assaulted her. As per her complaint, “Batra had invited her to his residence at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad on September 24 with the promise of a job and raped her. The MP spiked her drink and then sexually assaulted her”.

The matter is currently under investigation, and the woman also alleged that the MP also threatened her against revealing the matter to police.
