A recent comparative test showed that Microsoft’s Edge web browser beat Chrome and others in terms of power efficiency.

Edge appeared to be the most power-efficient browser to date. According to a report on Tech Radar, the Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Opera were tested simultaneously to see which notebook the browsers ran on would run out of juice first.

The notebooks were put through a range of tasks including opening sites, adding tabs, rolling through pages and playing videos.

It's worth pointing out that Microsoft Edge doesn't have all the features that Google Chrome has, and browser extensions are not currently available.

However this is set to change when the company launches its Anniversary Update to Windows 10 this summer.
