A new backdoor spyware is identified by firm Kryptowire in smartphones who works on Android operating System. This backdoor spyware is identified in the USA. This spyware collects the sensitive data of the user and transfer that to servers of china. This is the biggest cyber threat to India because everyone in five android users is using Chinese smartphones.

US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Kryptowire tell these two departments about its research of this backdoor spyware. It also tells that most of the devices are purchased from online shopping sites like Amazon and Bestbuy.com included popular smartphones such as BLU R1 HD devices.

Kryptowire also claimed that these devices transmit data like messages, contact lists, and call history with full telephone numbers from users device to servers in China. These data is transmitted without the consent of the user.

"Indian smartphone users are at the same risk as users in the US when it comes to sensitive personal data and information being copied from phones and transmitted to undisclosed locations without their consent or knowledge. This is owing to the security vulnerabilities that exist in the Android system," explained Pavan Duggal, one of the nation's top cyber law experts.

"Nearly 94 per cent of these people are using Android devices and Chinese smartphone users are at roughly 60 million, which means one out of five smartphone users in India are using a 'Made in China' device. Thus, security becomes a paramount concern here," Tarun Pathak, Senior Analyst, Mobile Devices and Ecosystems at New Delhi-based Counterpoint Research, told IANS.

Now let see what security measures are taken by the Cyber Cell of India in actual.
