Thiruvananthapuram, Today, A family of a 65-year-old woman got a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh from Kerala government as the woman was killed by a pack of street dogs.

Minister for Local Administration K T Jaleel said, “the decision on the compensation was taken at the state cabinet meeting held here”.

According to sources, “Siluvama, who was badly bitten by the dogs in Pulluvilla locality, succumbed to injuries while being rushed to a hospital near here on Sunday night.”

The cabinet also sanctioned Rs 50,000 to another woman of the same locality who was injured in a separate attack by dogs, Jaleel said.
