The accused in the Gang rape case has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

Muzaffarnagar: The local court in Muzaffarnagar sentenced life imprisonment to five persons for abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl four years ago.

The Additional District Sessions Judge Rajesh Bhardwaj also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 each on the accused Ashu, Subhash, Sunil, Ravi, and Praveen after holding them guilty.

The accused are also directed by the court to pay Rs 75,000 from the fine to the girl. According to government lawyer Kayyum Ali, the girl was abducted and taken to an isolated place where she was raped by seven people in January 2013. Two of the accused were found to be minors and were referred to a juvenile court.

The rape cases in India has been rising and there is a need to take some strict action against the people who commit it. The accused in rape cases generally don't get harsh punishment but not in this case as accused of Gang rape have been given a harsh punishment of life imprisonment.
