Finance Minister Arun Jaitely said on Wednesday, Centre is still work on the issues of Goods and Service Tax (GST) resolve from April 1 and few critical issues that are pending are expected to be sorted out in the next week.
Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia said on this, “There will be a computerized system to have invoice to invoice matching. The government is working overtime to make GST a reality”.
On this Arun Jaitely said, “We would want to be implemented from April if all issues are resolved. But implementing it before September 16 is a necessity”. The rollout of GST is fixed because of difference between the centre and states on its implementation. Jaitely also add to this that a digitized economy along with GST will lead to the expansion. With more efficient tax system and more digitilised,economy would be cleaner, bigger and demonetization can lead to more formal banking transactions.
