Panaji: Police alleged to have busted an online prostitution racket with the arrest of two persons, as well as the hunt is on to nab the woman from Madhya Pradesh who ran the racket in the coastal belt of Calangute in the state.
According to police inspector (Porvorim) Jivba Dalvi, "We laid a trap to bust the online sex racket. They were operating from Calangute area. We called them with the girls and arrested them on the road linking to the highway in Porvorim".
In the raid, police arrested Anil Lal Ravat (Uttar Pradesh) and Sunando Kishor Giri (Odisha). Also, two girls were rescued from West Bengal.
The entire racket was being run through a website. In the last six months, Porvorim police have booked the sixth case of prostitution, added inspector.
