The company Google was registered as what it is, a serch engine, on September 4th 1998. The founders namely Larry Page and Sergy Brin made this giat when they were pursuing their Ph.d in the University of Stanford, California. They currently, together own about 145 of the shares of the comapny and 56% of its stockholder voting power.

An initial public offering (IPO) took place on August 19, 2004, and Google moved to its new headquarters in Mountain View, California, nicknamed the Googleplex.

Today google celebrates it 18th birthday as the biggest IT sector company of the world providing service as, a seach engine, an operating system provider, as a main provider to digitalization of worlds economy, as a firm hand in the field of artificial intelligence and many more.

Since 2006, Google has celebrated its birthday on September 27, but the year before that, had it as September 26.

"In 2004, its 6th birthday Doodle went online on September 7 and in the year before that, it was September 8," the Telegraph reported.

Google has celebrated its birthday with a Doodle every year since its fourth birthday in 2002.
