After facing some disturbance at the board, Infosys will manage to hire about 6,000 engineers annually over the next two years. Infosys the second largest software company also increased its hiring process in the US and European markets as well. The company is looking forward to tapping opportunities and tide over visa- related issues.
On the recruitments, the Infosys interim -CEO and MD UB Pravin Rao said that " we continue to recruit over till next 1-2 years, demanding on the kind of growth we see in marker". One of the Bengaluru firms is in the eye over the past few months, with its founder and former board members clashing over alleged corporate governance lapses and irregularities in Infosys USD200-million papaya acquisition.
Over the disturbance into the public domain, the CEO Vishal Sikka as well former chairman R Seshasayee and three other board members quitted. Where as Co-founder Nandan Nilekani was named than non-executive chairman in a move that was seen as the company pressuring to the demands of co-founder and large institutional investors.
As Sikka exits the company the additional charge given to interim CEO and MD Rao, Rao also said that during the quarter, Infosys hired 8,645 people at a gross level but its overall headcount was lower by 1,811 people on a net level (which factors in attrition numbers).During the meeting with investors Rao said " Infosys is looking forward increasing its localization for the workplace, and also setting up the development and innovation hubs in the US as well",He ended with saying, the US, which is one of the largest markets for the Infosys, much like it peer, accounted for over 61 percent of its top line in June 2017".
