Kapil Sharma and controversies go hand in hand. Recently, as per the news Kapil had an alleged argument with cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu and replaced him with Archana Puran Singh.

However, Kapil while speaking to a tabloid said, "Aise koi baat nahi hai. Pehle bhi aisa hua hai jaise ki jab hum Sairat ka episode shoot kar rhe the tab Sidhu Sir available nahi the pir jab Jackie Chan aaye humne special episode ke liye Raveena Tandonji ko bulaya tha.. kabhi hota hai yeh jab sidhu sir busy hote hain. Maine khud yeh news padhi lekin sach yeh hai ki meri toh Sidhu sir se baat tak nhi ho payi. Yeh news toh jhooth hai. (There is no truth to this news. This [someone coming in place of Sidhu] has happened before. For example, when we shot for Sairat episode, Sidhu Sir was not there, even when Jackie Chan came, we called Raveenaji for the episode. I read this news but the truth is that I haven't actually spoken to Sidhu Sir. The news is absolutely false.)"

Kapil added, "Baki Sidhu sir ko replace karne ka toh main soch bhi nhi sakta.. maine jab bhi kahin bhi shoot kia hai toh Sidhu sir ke saath hi plan karta hoon because I feel he is lucky for me. Yeh khabarein pata nhi kaun apne mann se chapte hain.. confirm bhi nhi karte. (About replacing Sidhuji, I can never ever think about this. Whenever I plan to shoot, I always plan it along with Sidhuji because I feel he is lucky for me. I don't know from where these news came, no one confirms it.)"
