Srinagar: According to a new weekly protest calendar, the Kashmir valley will remain shut till October 6. Today, the valley remained shut for the 83rd consecutive day with heavy security under operation.
With the conflict began on July 9, all the schools, colleges and universities have remained closed from then.
During this period, around 12,000 people- including civilians and soldiers were injured in clashes. According to a senior police officer, "however there was no curfew anywhere in the valley, but main markets,public transports and other businesses have remained suspended ".
