The cabinet committee on economic affairs chaired by PM Narendra Modi, has approved the revised cost of the 400 MW Koteshwar Hydro Eelectric Project(HEP) at Uttarakhand at an estimated cost of Rs. 2717.35 crore, an official statement said.
The project is being implemented by the Tehri Hydro Development corporation (THDC) India Ltd.
In addition, it will be generating the output of 400MW of energy, it will regulate the Tehri dam for irrigation and drinking water purposes.
The reservoir of notes war HEP will also act as lower reserviour for under construction of 1000 MW Tehri pumped storage plant.
