The Indian player Leander Paes and Purav Raja with their performance have managed to reach the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour of the St. Petersburg Open as they defeated Marcus Daniell and Marcelo Demoliner.

The Indian duo registered a  6-4 6-2 victory over the pair from New Zealand and Brazil. In the semi-finals of the tournament, the Leander Paes and Purav Raja will have a match with Chilean J. Peralta and Argentinian H. Zeballos.

They progressed to the quarterfinals of the St Petersburg Open with a straight-set win over Fabio Fognini and James Cerretani. The Italian- American suffered a 6-3 6-4 defeat in front of Indian pair in a match that lasted for one hour and seven minutes.

Ramkumar Ramanathan advanced to the second round of the Columbus Challenger with a win over American Sekou Bangoura. He beat his American opponent by 7-6 (7) 6-4 in an opening round that lasted for two hours and six minutes.

Yuki Bhambri in his opening round due to a hip problem lost to Jose Fernandez- Hermandez by 6-4 6-7(5) 0-2 after two hours and 16 minutes and was crashed out of the tournament.

It will be exciting to see the player Leander Paes and Purav Raja to play a match against their opponent and move ahead in the tournament.
