It was all set for a cracker when on Wednesday Sri Lanka faced West Indies. Both teams represented some young talent which did perform extraordinarily in the whole match. Yet, People who were expecting it to be a nail-biting contest would be delighted and those who were expecting it to be a one-way traffic were stunned by the result of it.
Sri Lankan scored 330 for 7 due to some good innings including Kushel Mendes and new wicketkeeper Dequella who both fell short before reaching their Centuries. However, Sri Lankan did manage to win the match at last as West Indies remained 329 for 9 in their 50 overs.
Although, NO one would ever forget what Lewis played like. He scored 148 in 123 balls making it a remark and a clear statement of his bright future only in his 4th ODI match indeed. West Indies is still suffering on the ground with running as it witnessed 3 of his players also getting out due to poor running. The 3 run out also included getting rid of Lewis's spectacular innings which captain Holder did express that became a turning point at large.
Lewis is only 3rd West Indies player to score a big tonne during the chase after Legendary Brian Lara and Shivnarayan Chandrapaul, Thus it seems that a professional player like him would surely now eye upon the unique match to take place on Friday. Sri Lanka managed to win the match by single run through which assured that it would witness either Zimbabwe or West Indies on Sunday in finals.
Let's hope that Lewis would play better in other two games and His innings won’t go in vain even after such spectacular knock in coming future indeed.
