A 30-year-old man has been booked by police from the Nalla Sopara area for forcing his wife into flesh trade and torturing her by burning her with cigarette butts. The victim yesterday filed a complaint in the police station.
The police officer as per the sources news said The woman said in her complaint that she came to Palghar in 2012 after divorcing her first husband and leaving her two children with her mother in Uttar Pradesh.
He said In 2013, the accused allegedly raped her while promising to marry her and forced her into flesh trade. He later married the woman and started demanding money from her earnings.
The accused has been booked under the IPC sections 376 (rape), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her for marriage), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 and 506 (criminal intimidation) and also relevant provisions of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
