Karan Johar was too keen to make film on Amish Tripathi's bestseller book Immortals of Meluha. He had bought making rights also and decided the title Shuddhi for the film.
But as per development in this series, Karan had to surrender the rights after his production house was unable to make the film in given contracted time. And now Sanjay Leela Bhansali has shown his interest in making of the film based on book.
A source close to Amish Tripathi said, "His contract with Karan expired recently, so Dharma had to surrender the rights to the book.”
Currently, the director is all busy in making of Padmavati which stars Deepika Padukone , Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles.
