In Seoul today the 14 Indian shuttlers will begin their campaigns at the Korea Open Superseries tournament, among which the Rio Olympic silver-medallist PV Sindhu is also there.

On the absence of the ace shuttler Saina Nehwal, She is the only Indian to take part in the women's singles category. In the recently concluded World Badminton Championship Sindhu clinched a silver medal.

In the opening round, she will play against Ngan Yi Cheung of Hong Kong. In the four matches they have played against each other so far Sindhu never lost against Cheung.

B. Sai Praneeth, H.S. Prannoy, Parupalli Kashyap, Sourabh Verma and Sameer Verma are the other players who will play in the men's singles first round. Kidambi Srikanth is not taking part in the tournament. The Indian players will also feature in the mixed doubles categories.
