Pravar Gopalakrishnan, President of Travancore Devaswam committee raised a controversy with his statements about the entry of women in Sabarimala temple. Gopalakrishnan has said that even if the Supreme Court has detached the ban, women, who have self-respect, will not get in the Sabarimala temple.

Gopalakrishnan also said that we will not let the temple to become Thailand by allowing women's admittance. He said that if the women came to the temple then the temple would turn out to be a tourist center.

The Sabarimala temple is in the district of Kerala in Pathnathita. The Travancore Devaswam Board takes care at the arrangements here and this board has placed a ban on entry of women aged10 to 50 years.

Gopalakrishnan has related this issue with tradition as well as security. He said that in any season, women aged 10 to 50 years of age must climb up the hill, how would such a situation be? And if women will come, then women police will also come for their safety, then there will be raised many issues like immoral acts.

Tourism Minister of Kerala has destined this statement. He has said that by giving such statements TDB chief has offended the women community and Lord Ayyappa.

Surendran has asked Gopalakrishnan to make an apology. He said that the Government of Kerala is making sure that gender discrimination with women is ended.
