Nagaland Protest: Public wrath is at peak, government properties burnt

Kohima: Protesters are demanding for 33% of  reservation for women in local polls, which was earlier ignored by the Government bodies. Protesters are showing their agitation by burning civic property in the capital of Nagaland.

Nagaland Tribe Action Council, group formed on Thursday, sent a written charter to the Chief Minister TR Zeliang and asked to fulfill the demands of the public till the given deadline.

As government bodies were unable to respond to the charter, People broke violence on the streets and burned Kohima Municipal Council Building. Many other offices were burnt down including State Information Commission, Urban Development Department, Railway Reservation Centre and the Kohima Press Club
