Ranji Trophy games rescheduled due to fog in capital !

There have been so many odd times for the Indian cricket when the board has taken the strange decisions or the government has imposed some unwanted practices. This time the issue came up of re-scheduling Ranji Trophy matches.

Due to the persistent fog in the capital city Delhi, two matches has been rescheduled which had to be played during the weekends. As per the officials there were no proper visibility to conduct the match hence they are re-scheduling the two matches.

Bengal vs Gujrat game has to be played on Feroz Shah Kotla ground while Hyderabad vs Tripura was scheduled to be played at Karnail Singh Stadium. To the strange part, as per the previous trend when a match is abandoned due to rain or another factor, both participating teams share the half match points. But this time the match is completely re-scheduled to some later late. The technical committee is headed by former Indian captain "Sourav Ganguly".

The smog, which some players claimed "burned their eyes, left a smoky feeling in their mouth and had them gasping for air" can hardly be called a life-threatening "act of God". Smog in Delhi is universally accepted as a result of the city's wretched pollution which hits alarming proportions every winter. However, no person anywhere in the world, including Delhi, has died of air pollution, and to therefore pass off the smog as life-threatening is complete nonsense.
