After Julie Bishop, its Reebok who has come up against US President Donald Trump and his remarks on Brigitte Macron.

On his first visit to France, Trump was caught staring at the French president’s wife, admiringly up and down. “You’re in such good shape,” the US president told her. He then turned to her husband, newly elected French president Emmanuel Macron, who was standing beside him, and repeated: “She’s in such good physical shape.”

In its response via Twitter, Reebok turned to Trump’s favorite digital forum for a steady stream of pronouncements on matters large and small. Reebok’s post, which also included a tongue-in-cheek list of instances in which the brand said the president’s comments were inappropriate -- including in an elevator or when being introduced to a future mother-in-law -- was re-tweeted 44,000 times.

Reebok’s tweet backfired when Jim Norton, a comedian posted one of the ads of Reebok saying, “Thank you, @Reebok, for your virtuous message about when it's appropriate to complement a woman's shape”.
