Roger Federer defeats American Frances Tiafoe in men single event of US Open

Roger Federer, the 19-time Grand Slam champion in the opening round of the US Open on Wednesday defeated American Frances Tiafoe by 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4. This men's singles event lasted two hours and 40 minutes at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

He is five-time US Open champion and currently at the third position in the ongoing tournament.

In the second round, he will have a match with either Slovenian Blaz Kavcic or Russian Mikhail Youzhny.
