Economic Survey: S&P BSE sensex slips 100 points

The S&P BSE Sensex slipped by about 100 points in morning trade on Tuesday ahead of the Economic Survey. The fall in the index was led by losses in Infosys, Tata Motors, Coal India, ITC, HDFC, and Axis Bank.

The Nifty50 came under pressure and was trading around its crucial support level of 8,600 weighed down by losses in realty, power, consumer durable, capital goods, and banking stocks. 

The 30-share index was trading 86 points higher or 0.31 percent at 27,762. It touched a high of 27,8867.92 and a low of 27,737.59 in morning trade.

The Nifty50 was trading at 8,596 down 38 points or 0.44 per cent. It touched a high of 8,631.75 and a low of 8,591.35 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was trading 0.12 per cent down and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.02 per cent lower. 

ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid  Tata Steel, and Adani Ports were the major Sensex gainers.GAIL India, Coal India, Tata Motors, Infosys were the major Sensex losers.
