Tuesday; the BSE Sensex increased by 157 points and the Nifty topped 9,600 in opening trade today. The 30-share barometer was trading superior by 156.75 pts.
Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty added 40.45 pts, or 0.42 %, at 9,615.40.
The list of major gainers included Adani Ports, Hindustan Unilever, Cipla, HDFC Ltd, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, TCS, M&M and Kotak Bank, rising by up to 1.46 %.
American Dow Jones Industrial Average finished 0.07 % higher yesterday.
