New Delhi: In a terrific incident, a man shames the word ‘husband’ as he threw acid on her 19-year-old wife outside his house in outer Delhi’s Rohini.
The accused Pradeep Singh 34 years old, who works as a welder was detained by the police for attacking with acid on her wife as she refused to settle with him and return home.
Such a horrible incident occurred on Tuesday, when Amanpreet Kaur was on her way to her aunt’s house. 19-year-ols left her husband’s resident around ten days ago and from then she was living at her mother’s place. At the time,when Singh spotted Amanpreet on road and forced her to go with him to a nearby park, where his cousins Jeetu and Kapil were waiting.
As per the Kaur’s statement, “He started hitting me while my sister, Isha, tried to stop them. I was slapped several times. He had hidden the acid in a water bottle. He threw acid on my face but I managed to save my face. It fell on my hands and stomach”.
Victim was then rushed to the nearby Ambedkar Hospital, from where they referred her to the Safdarjung Hospital burns ward. She was discharged on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of police (outer) MN Tiwari said, that the accused Pradeep Singh was detained and has been sent to judicial custody.
