The Romanian Simona Halep yesterday in the match of an Italian open defeated the Estonia's Anett Kontaveit by 6-2, 6-4. With this win, she has reached the semi-finals of the Italian Open.
Ninth-seeded Venus Williams will face Spanish third seed Garbine Muguruza for a place in the last four, while Ukraine's Elina Svitolina faces Czech second seed Karolina Pliskova in the quarter-final clash.
