Mount Batur is an active volcano and it last erupted in the year 2000. One can join a group that offers sunrise trekking tours or it can be done independently if you are an avid trekker. It takes around 2-3 hours to climb, depending on the level of fitness.
5/ Ubud Monkey Forest
The sanctuary is based on Hindu doctrine of Tri Hita Karana, encouraging people to maintain harmonious relationships between humans and its environment. There are around 1000 monkeys in an area of a square kilometre. They are not afraid of humans at all and are known to get aggressive sometimes.
