A new study suggests that if you'd like the brain to be healthy in the latter part of life, then you should start taking care and watch your weight when you're younger.

Researchers found that a higher body mass index (BMI) can effect cognitive and brain function in the elderly. It can lead to higher inflammation and impact brain function.

"The higher your BMI, the more your inflammation goes up" says, Kyle Bourassa, the lead author of the study.
