For the promotion of Rangoon, Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor went to a singing reality show The Voice 2 where the host of the show Sugandha mimicked Kangana. To which the actress said, "I feel like slapping her."
Sugandha rubbished the reports, "I really admire Kangana and her body of work. We had a great time while shooting the episode on Voice and the camaraderie is for all to see in the episode. In fact, we did an act together where she calls up Datto and says datto thappad marungi to daant toot jayenge. Imitating her and the fashion walk was all in good humour and as an artist, she appreciated it. That’s all I want to say and there's nothing more to it."
The Queen star also talked about her character, "She is a stuntwoman and it's an amalgamation of many characters in the film. I am known to speak my mind and to say things that I stand for is right. That sort of conviction and identity was important for the role."
