Gurgaon, Two hours of heavy showers resulted in an eight-km jam on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway on NH-8 and several important intersections.
Hero Honda Chowk, Sohna Road, Manesar, Udyog Vihar, Old Gurgaon Road and Rajeev Chowk witnessed waterlogging and choked traffic movement for almost three hours after heavy rainfall between 3 and 5 PM.
T L Satyaprakash, Deputy Commissioner, Gurgaon, said, "Gurgaon recorded 4 mm rains. Najafgarh drain was overflowing. Waterlogging was reported at Hero Honda chowk resulting in long vehicular pile up at the entire stretch of National Highway-8".
He said senior police, district administration and National Highways Authority of India officials assisted to ease the traffic movement by 8 PM..
