The first film to release in 2017 is Coffee With D which stars Sunil Grover in lead role. The makers of the film inspite of being happy, are unhappy which taken them to Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi, to lodge a complaint. As per the makers they are receiving calls who have been threatening them to make changes in the film. As the film is based to feauture underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in a bad light.

Vishal Mishra, the filmmaker and producer Vinod Ramani said that they are getting threatening calls from different numbers and locations daily that forced them to file complaint. But the lead actor of film Sunil Grover is not taking part in promotions of the film and announced on Twitter that he isn't involved in filing complaint.

Producer Vinod Ramani speaks about his absence and said, “We are guessing that the Real D has compelled Sunil to go underground and not stand by what needs to be done. Matters do get a little sensitive when such a thing happens.We still have the highest regard for him as an actor but it is very sad to have the lead actor of our film refusing to promote the film at such an hour. He has put all the film's promotions in jeopardy, including the Kapil Sharma show integration for the film."
