In Muzaffarnagar, a 26-year-old woman has alleged that she was raped by a man on the pretext of marriage at a village here after he befriended her on a social media site a year ago, as per revealed by police.
The victim lodged a police complaint yesterday, following which a case has been registered against the man, they as per the sources news said, adding the woman has been sent for medical examination.
The complainant has said they became friends on a social media site a year ago. She alleged that the accused had promised to marry her, but later refused, the police said.
