Renault has decided to launched Zoe RS in the coming years as its prototype has been built but it's still facing some challenges which have to be overcome.
The director of Renault Patrice Ratti has confirmed that they have created the prototype after the coming of 466hp Zoe e-sport car which was inspired by the Formula E. now the company is looking forward to launching a high-performance version of this in the international market by 2020.
The director gave the statement, “We are thinking about doing a Zoe RS but it is a big study that will take time. The performance of batteries has improved [to the point] that it is now feasible, which certainly wasn’t the case a few years ago. So, the studies have begun.”
Zoe's main concept is that it has two motors developing 640Nm at 4,300 RPM that is capable of increasing by 100kmph in just 3 secs. The chassis and steering modifications in Renault Sports Clio have been made which will be equipped in Zoe RS.
Nonetheless, Ratti said, “A Renault Sports car also needs to handle well and that is the challenge. To have the weight of the batteries and still achieve the agility we pride ourselves on is a tough task.”
He also included that with these advantages battery limitations might also come.
