Administration on high alert, Cyclone to hit Gujarat coast tomorrow

New Delhi: The weather department on Tuesday warned that there remains a low-pressure area in the Arabian Sea. Cyclone air may collide off the coast of Gujarat on Thursday. The Gujarat administration is on high alert to tackle the cyclone. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that people living in coastal areas will be evacuated to safer places.

As per the information received from the sources, the Government has made all arrangements to deal with the cyclone. IAF C-17 aircraft with NDRF team arrives in Jamnagar. The government has instructed fishermen not to go to sea from June 12 to 15. According to the weather department, the air may intensify further in the next 24 hours. The air was currently 650 km away from Veraval by Tuesday afternoon.

With this, as per the information received from the officials, the cyclone can affect the districts of Kutch, Jamnagar, Junagarh, Devbhumi-Dwarka, Porbandar, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir-Somnath. CM Rupani pointed out that the entire coastal areas from Kutch to South Gujarat have been put on high alert. The administration is in touch with the Odisha government to get information about ways to avoid the damage caused by the cyclone, which was adopted by the Odisha government at the time of Fanny.
