Commercial auto major Ashok Leyland reported having the hike in its business. the company has sold 18682 units in the month of March, this sale configured the 12% increase in the business in the ending month of fiscal 2016.

Previously, the company has sold 16,702 units of vehicles in the month of March last year. This is not the end, the company has garnered the 15% increment in the heavy vehicles segment. The number of units sold last year was 3,424, which is reported to be 15,258 this time.

Vinod K. Dasari CEO and MD at Ashok Leyland said, "We are happy to have achieved an overall growth of 12 during March 2017 and a growth of 3 for FY2017, despite various challenges. The last financial year was significant for us considering the number of new product launches, which were well received by our customers, expansion of dealerships in North and East, opening up assembly unit in Dhaka and offices in Dubai and Bangladesh closer to our customers has led to a positive growth both in domestic and overseas markets.”
