Thane: In a fearful incident, a 28 year old woman was murdered by her husband, when she did not permit the man to marry another woman over his extreme anxiety to have a male child.
The accused Kunal Sonak Khadke 29 years old lived along with his wife Indu in Bothra village of Sahapur taluka in Thane district and the duo have three daughters.
According to the Kasara police station inspector Pradip Kasbe, “Kunal desired a son and hence wanted to marry another woman, as Indu opposed his wish to remarry.”
The incident took place on Sunday night, when the accused took his wife on a bike towards a river and strangulated her to death. After killing her, he threw victims body on the road.
Police arrested the convict following the complaint filed by the victim’s father and has been booked under sections 302 (murder), 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence.
