On Friday US- elect president Donald Trump had telephonic conversation with the Taiwanese President Tsai-ing wen , which is considered to be the first one after the US and Taiwan's relation were strained after 1979.

Taiwanese team said "During the discussion they noted the close economic, political, and security ties that exist between Taiwan and the United States. President-elect Trump also congratulated President Tsai on becoming president of Taiwan earlier this year."

Trump , had ardently had accepted the call and had tweeted about the same saying,"The President of Taiwan called me today to wish me congratulations on winning the Presidency. Thank you!"

Following another one "Interesting how the US sells Taiwan billions of dollars of military equipment but I should not accept a congratulatory call." Although the experts do say that this might anger the China and may affect their ties with the country.
