Facebook have launched a new tool in its application, 'Town Hall Tool', which lets users follow the law makers of the nearby areas. This step is taken to link their users with politics. The tool enlists the number of lawmakers from nearby areas and you can follow them.

Along with that, it also enlists the nominated candidates from the areas of the vicinity. 
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company is focusing on the politics and social issues.

Mark Zuckerberg wrote in his post, "The more you engage with the political process, the more you can ensure it reflects your values. This is an important part of feeling connected to your community and your democracy, and it’s something we’re increasingly focused on at Facebook."
