Hyderabad: A Five-year-old boy who was class 1 student of the Government Primary School ,on Friday fell into a large vessel containing hot sambhar. The boy named B Jagannath was taken to the local hospital and then later on to the Osmania General Hospital where he was declared dead.

A case has been registered against the three woman who serve food in the school here. "In the rush to help the boy, the women, apparently, lifted the boy out of the vessel and removed his sambar-soaked shirt, resulting in much of the skin from his chest being peeled off." said the Police officer.

Inspector A Viswaprasad said "Though the vessel was partly covered with a lid, it slid sideways upon impact, resulting in Jagannath falling into the hot liquid,". "A measure as simple as placing the vessels behind a school bench would have prevented the death".
