When I see or hear jaggery it takes me back to my old house where my grandparents used to live. I remember my grandma giving me jaggery or “gud” every night after meals. For me it was my sweet desert that I waited to get eagerly.

Our elders always made sure that we children eat jaggery before going to sleep cause of its health benefits and we used to think it’s a reward for being good. We see the markets are flooded with different types of jaggery like sugarcane jaggery, date palm jaggery and coconut jaggery especially in the winters. All this because of innumerable benefits of this sweet dollop.

Here are some benefits of including Jaggery in your meal.
