LG Company wants to be the first company, which offered Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with the help of its smartphone LG V20. For LG G5 user of South Korea, the company committed to providing this latest version “Android 7.0 Nougat” as soon as possible. South Korea is the place of origin for LG.
The company does not specify any timeline for the updates of the new version, but it said updates will be available in coming weeks. On Tuesday Company announced that it has started rolling out the update for LG G5 users and after South Korea, users in Americas, Asia, and other markets will be getting the Nougat version soon. "Most G5 users will receive notifications on their phones when the update is available. More information will become available locally in the weeks ahead," the South Korean company said in an emailed release.
In August 2016, LG conducts an Android 7.0 Nougat Preview Program for the users of LG G5 in South Korea. And 2000 applicants are selected by the company to test this latest version in this program. This new Android software has lots of new features and functions.
"Getting software updates to our users faster than the competition is our way of demonstrating that LG is committed to supporting our products and customers to ensure they have a positive ownership experience," Senior Vice-President and Head of Research and Development at LG Mobile Kim Hyung-Jung was quoted as saying in the release.
