Locals of Papua New Guinea move to hilly area after Tsunami warnings

Papua New Guinea was slammed by strong earthquake of 7.9 magnitude that hit around east of the Pacific nation. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said regarding Tsunami alert, "Based on all available data ... the tsunami threat from this earthquake has now passed,".

The US geological survey earlier issued that a huge Tsunami may attack the Pacific region but soon after the warning was pulled back. According to one of the residents, "The town residents have vacated the whole place; those in the villages live higher up, so they're ok, it's just those near the coast."

Although there were no casualties or damage after the quake also and people from Papua New Guinea who reside not so near the coastline have not experienced any earthquake tremble and are no moving to a higher ground for now.
