India's star boxer Mary Kom has been conferred with the title 'OLY'. On Thursday, Mary Kom thanked the World Olympians Association. OLY is an honour given by the World Olympic Association to only those sportspersons who have won medals in the Olympics and are also promoting Olympic value in society. Olympic value means honour, friendship and hard work.

Mary Kom posted the certificate on her Twitter handle, writing, 'Thank you, for giving me this honour.' Mary Kom, a six-time World Champion, suffered a semi-final defeat at the World Boxing Champion last month. Thus Mary Kom had to be satisfied with Bronze. It is Mary Kom's eighth World Championship medal, having won 6 gold, one silver and one bronze medal. She is the only amateur female boxer to win so many medals.
